- Leipzig create history for a newly-promoted team.
- The Bundesliga newcomers are now 11 games unbeaten.
- Victory against Leverkusen represented a sixth straight win.
RB Leipzig’s sensational start to their first-ever season in the Bundesliga has produced a competition record for a newly-promoted team.
Never before had a side gaining their first experience of German top-flight football gone 11 matches without defeat at the start of a campaign, until now. MSV Duisburg managed ten matches unbeaten at the beginning of the 93/94 season. Yet, that record is now consigned to the past, with Leipzig’s 3-2 win away to Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Matchday 11 setting a new standard.

What's more, with their dramatic victory at the BayArena, Ralph Hasenhüttl's men stretched their winning sequence to six games, becoming the only Bundesliga team to achieve such a run this season.
"We are very proud of this result; we always want to play at our best in every game," Leipzig captain Willi Orban said after his winning goal sealed victory for the team from the former East Germany. "We always believed in ourselves and we never backed down; we certainly deserved to get that result," Hasenhüttl – who witnessed his team twice come from behind against Leverkusen – added.
Next up for the provisional Bundesliga pacesetters – who have now won eight of their 11 games this term – is a trip to face SC Freiburg next weekend, with midfielder Oliver Burke already issuing a rallying cry ahead of that encounter:
Fantastic win and great come back team!! We keep this going 👊🏻👍🏻— Oliver Burke (@OliverBurke55) November 18, 2016
