FC Schalke 04 coach Markus Weinzierl should stick to the 3-5-2 formation that has served him well in recent weeks. Max Meyer is still battling to overcome a ligament tear picked up in the Revierderby against Borussia Dortmund last week. Former Bremen striker Franco Di Santo is also a doubt with a stomach injury. With Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and long-term absentee Breel Embolo also missing, Weinzierl may be short of options up front.

Watch: Highlights of Schalke's Revierderby draw with Borussia Dortmund:

SV Werder Bremen counterpart Alexander Nouri has had to do without his main strikers Max Kruse and Claudio Pizarro since taking over at the Weser Stadium. And he has now been presented with a headache at the back as Lamine Sane suffered a knee injury. He should be replaced by Milos Veljkovic and on the right wing, Fin Bartels may get the nod ahead of Izet Hajrovic.
