Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman could return to first-team action with the record Bundesliga champions in as little as 10 days, with France's raid on the FIFA World Cup in Russia now a realistic target.

Coman twisted his ankle in a goalless draw at home to Hertha Berlin in February and had been a doubt for this summer’s showpiece, but a swift recovery means the 21-year-old should be fit in time for the DFB Cup final later this month, and make this summer's international showpiece.

"I'm getting better," the winger, who plundered five goals and six assists in all competitions before getting waylaid, told SportBild. "Maybe I can play against VfB Stuttgart on the final day. I'm sure I can play in the Cup final!"

Coman, a league champion in each of his last six seasons with Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and then Bayern, is also confident of adding to his 15 caps for France, with the final games of the domestic season set to guarantee his match fitness.

"The World Cup will be no problem for me," he concluded. "I'll be fit in time for it coming around."
