New Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes could be forced into a midfield reshuffle ahead of Matchday 8 after it emerged that Thiago Alcantara injured his ankle while on international duty with Spain on Friday.

The 26-year-old played the full 90 minutes for the Iberians and scored the third goal in a 3-0 win at home to Albania that secured the team's place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

However, the Spanish FA confirmed on Saturday that Thiago has since left the national team camp and will play no part in Spain's final qualifying match in Israel on Monday after an MRI scan revealed that he sprained ankle ligaments. It has not yet been revealed which ankle Thiago has injured, nor how long he is expected to be out of action.
