Augsburg vs. Hertha Berlin: As it happened!

A last-gasp Salomon Kalou goal salvaged Hertha Berlin a point and denied Augsburg a place in the Bundesliga's top four with a 1-1 draw in Bavaria.

Augsburg 1-1 Hertha Berlin

Goals: 1-0 Caiuby (74'), 1-1 Kalou (90+1')

Confidence is currently oozing out of Augsburg and Caiuby personified this to lead their first attack, although his effort was saved by Rune Jarstein. Marcel Heller went even closer for the hosts as his shot was tipped onto the crossbar by Jarstein before Michael Gregoritsch grazed the outside of the right-hand post with the Bavarians' next effort.

Hertha responded well in the second half with Marwin Hitz finally able to get his hands on the luminous red ball to deny Alexander Esswein and Marvin Plattenhardt, but it was during the Old Lady's best spell of the game that Caiuby put the hosts in front. Unsurprisingly, it was Philipp Max who provided his league-high eighth assist and Caiuby supplied the finish to put Augsburg in front. It was not enough for all three points, however, as Kalou tucked in Niklas Stark's header in stoppage time to snatch a draw for the guests.
