As disappointed as Bayern Munich will no doubt still be at having been knocked out of the DFB Cup and the UEFA Champions League, a 26th Bundesliga title certainly goes a long way to healing those wounds.

Just days after a 3-2 home loss to Borussia Dortmund in the Cup semi-final last Wednesday, the Bavarians rediscovered the insatiable streak that had won them the last four titles by ruthlessly dispatching Wolfsburg 6-0 and making it five in a row on Saturday.

In all five triumphs, as well as in 2009/10, Netherlands ace Arjen Robben has played a vital role. Despite being a midfielder, his goalscoring record is simply sensational: 129 in 254 appearances in all competitions, including 88 in the Bundesliga. He recently moved into second place on the list of the club's highest-scoring foreign league marksmen, behind only Giovane Elber (92).

Watch: Robben and Johan Cruyff are both renowned for their signature moves:

While Bayern are soon to be crowned kings of Germany for a 27th time, Robben can also reflect on a landmark achievement in his own career. He has now won a tenth league championship at club level: one Eredivisie crown with PSV Eindhoven, two Premier League titles with Chelsea, one La Liga with Real Madrid, and now six Bundesliga successes in Munich.

His latest triumph with Bayern means he also draws level with the legendary Johan Cruyff on ten league titles, which delighted and humbled the wing wizard in equal measure. "I've just read that I'm level with Holland's greatest ever player, Johan Cruyff. That's not bad at all to be mentioned in the same breath as him."

After such a stellar season, the 34-year-old will already be casting an eye towards next term and winning the Bundesliga again. To boast more league titles than perhaps the finest player in the history of the game? What an achievement that would be.
