Free-scoring Dortmund heading to Asia on a high

Dortmund - Borussia Dortmund warmed up for their Bundesliga World Tour 2015 trip to the Far East with a 17-0 win over a Olympic Gold Medal winners’ XI on Saturday, raising €250,000 for charity in the process.

41,200 spectators descended on the Signal Iduna Park to witness the gala display, which included hat-tricks for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Jonas Hofmann and Ciro Immobile. Jakub Blaszczykowski netted a first-half brace, while Marco Reus, Kevin Kampl, Gonzalo Castro, Pascal Stenzel and Mitsuru Maruoka all got in on the act.

BVB, who beat VfL Rhede 5-0 in Thomas Tuchel’s first game in charge a day earlier, travel to Japan for the first leg of their Asian excursion on Sunday. The Yellow-Blacks will also visit Malaysia and Singapore, before wrapping up proceedings on 11 July.

Ticket proceeds from Saturday's friendly, meanwhile, will go to national sports trust Deutsche Sporthilfe.
