Paderborn - While relegated SC Paderborn 07 were left to ponder what might have been, there was joy unconfined for VfB Stuttgart following their relegation-dodging heroics on Saturday afternoon.

bundesliga.com was on hand to round up the reaction to a heart-stopping contest at the Benteler Arena...

Daniel Didavi: "It’s absolutely awesome. I think it was the kind of game we were all expecting. Paderborn threw everything they had at us. We struggled to get into the game, but I think that’s what we’re about: we never shied away and managed to turn the game around. Now all the pressure of the past few weeks is gone and at the moment it feels like we've won the title!"

Daniel Ginczek: "I wanted to pay back the faith that’s been put in me, and to score the decisive goal like that was unbelievable. Huge credit to the team - we’ve stuck together over the past few weeks. They said our team spirit had gone, but I think this shows that there’s still a bit of team spirit left in this team. There always has been. But yeah… what a day!"

Sven Ulreich: "It's a massive weight off our minds. An unbelievably difficult year is over now. It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to celebrate with the fans. We're still in the top flight, which is where this club belongs. We pulled together really well."

Christian Gentner: "Right now I just feel relieved. Both teams were facing the drop, so there was a lot at stake in this game. With that in mind, both teams gave their all. It was quite a game and a really strange situation, with one team celebrating and the other relegated to the second division. We kept our cool after going behind, and we continued to play to our strengths and turned it around."

Moritz Stoppelkamp:"It was clear that both teams were going for it in the second half and Stuttgart were just that little bit luckier on the day. It's a rubbish feeling now."
