Cologne - A host of Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 players have been honoured by popular football magazine FourFourTwo after being named among the 50 best Asian footballers in 2015.

Cream of the Asian crop

As many as nine Germany-based players feature in the ranking, with the highest placings going to 1. FSV Mainz 05's goal-machine Shinji Okazaki - second in the poll - and Bayer 04 Leverkusen's Heung-Min Son, who sits atop the list.

Son netted three times in the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League campaign, as well as another 12 in the league so far to help Bayer secure a place at Europe's top table for next term. The 22-year-old also scored three times as South Korea finished runners-up at the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.

Okazaki, meanwhile, has enjoyed another highly fruitful domestic season, bagging 12 goals in 30 league appearances and becoming the most prolific Japanese goalscorer in the Bundesliga's history.

22nd - Mathew Leckie (FC Ingolstadt 04)
23rd - Jin-Su Kim (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim)
30th - Ja-Cheol Koo (1. FSV Mainz 05)

41st - Atsuto Uchida (FC Schalke 04)
