Cologne - The votes of bundesliga.com users have been cast and counted and, following his heroics in Borussia Mönchengladbach's 3-0 win over Bayer 04 Leverkusen, wing wizard Patrick Herrmann has been named Matchday 32's Player of the Week.

The Foals' victory over their fellow top-four competitors and local rivals saw them take a major step towards securing automatic UEFA Champions League qualification, and Herrmann was once again at the forefront of their success, scoring once and providing the assist for Max Kruse's opener.

'It's a great feeling'

The win also represented Gladbach's first home win over Leverkusen since 1989. "Wow, I wasn't even born then!" remarked the 24-year-old, who collected 44 per cent of the votes. "It's a great feeling, particularly since it was such an important game. That makes it feel twice as good. It shows that we can hold our own with the best. We've beaten many of the top teams, picked up a lot of points and things have been going particularly well for us in the second half of the season."

Hot on his heels in second place was VfL Wolfsburg's Bas Dost, who came away with 39 per cent of the vote. With 14 goals to his name since the winter break, the Dutchman has proven the Bundesliga's most prolific striker in the second half of the season and scored at least twice for the fifth time post-Christmas in the Wolves' 3-1 win over SC Paderborn 07. Occupying the final podium position having picked up 17 per cent of the vote was FC Augsburg's Raul Bobadilla, scorer of his side's winner against FC Bayern München on Saturday.
