Adelino Andre Vieira de Freitas, or Vieirinha for short, is famed for his speed, dribbling ability and tenacity in the tackle. The Portugal international started out as an attacking midfielder, but has been used at full-back on both wings at VfL Wolfsburg this season. Vieirinha has one goal and five assists to his name this term and his frequent crosses pose a constant threat to opposition defences.
Rafinha rose to prominence thanks to his unyielding commitment to attack, but the Brazilian is known more for his defensive robustness these days. FC Bayern München have only conceded seven goals this term while he has been on the pitch and, averaging 99 touches per match, he is heavily involved in the champions’ build-up play too. Furthermore, despite his whole-hearted style, the 29-year-old has only been booked three times this season.
Paul Verhaegh has been FC Augsburg captain since 2012 and is now the undisputed first choice right-back at the club. The Dutch World Cup participant has been the Bavarians’ designated penalty taker since the 2013/14 campaign and has netted all seven of the spot-kicks he has taken - including five this term. The 31-year-old has won 60 per cent of all his duels this season, a quota that is among the highest in the Bundesliga for a full-back.
