Stefan Bell: "I was rested [on Matchday 29] so maybe I should have a break more often if I come back and play like I did here! I may have got two goals today but I'm not sure I'm the right person to give other defenders tips on how to score - I've still only got three Bundesliga goals after all. They were very important goals and today things went well, but I think I can still work on scoring more often and becoming more dangerous up front. We won 2-0 but that shouldn't disguise the fact that not everything we did today was good - the match could easily have turned out differently."

Benedikt Höwedes: "We started really well and had four or five clear-cut chances, so we should have gone a couple of goals in front. Then we conceded two goals from set-pieces, even though Mainz hadn't had any chances before then. Our marking wasn't tight enough and we weren't committed enough. That left us a shell-shocked and we needed a while to get back into the game after that. We didn't play very attractive football but we nevertheless had eight or nine good chances and still failed to score. It's disappointing."

Ralf Fährmann: "We began well but we shouldn't concede goals from set-pieces. There are no excuses for that as everyone has a clearly defined role to play there. We had a few chances but didn't make the most of them. It's sad because we fought hard and ran a lot but we're just not converting our chances. We simply have to perform like we're capable of doing out on the pitch."
