Munich - FC Bayern München captain Philipp Lahm has confirmed that French winger will miss Saturday's trip to Borussia Dortmund due to injury.

Lengthy casualty list

"It's bad news," the Bayern skipper told the assembled press at the club's training headquarters on Thursday afternoon. "He's really important for us. We mustn't complain, we need to look forward. We've got a big squad and have to compensate for losses like this."

As well as Ribery, who has been out of action since taking a knock to his ankle in last month's 7-0 win over FC Shakhtar Donetsk in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, the Bundesliga leaders will also be without Arjen Robben, David Alaba and Javi Martinez at the Signal Iduna Park.

Defender Holger Badstuber is battling to overcome a hip injury sustained on international duty with Germany, but veteran striker Claudio Pizarro is in line to make the matchday squad after returning to training following muscular problems.
