Robben ruled out for several weeks

Munich - has been ruled out for several weeks with an abdominal injury he picked up midway through the first half of FC Bayern München's 2-0 defeat at home to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday.

Robben was replaced by Thomas Müller after only 24 minutes with a diagnosis on Sunday evening confirming he had torn an abdominal muscle. According to Bayern, the Dutchman faces a lay-off of for "several weeks".

With the international break meaning the next round of Bundesliga matches is a fortnight away, Robben will have time to work on his recovery before the league leaders' next league game at Borussia Dortmund on 4 April. The defending champions then face Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup before travelling to FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League last eight.
