Cologne - After finishing top in last week's Player of the Week ballot, FC Bayern München star Thomas Müller has now won the Matchday 25 Goal of the Week vote for his effort against SV Werder Bremen on Saturday.

Okazaki in second

Müller's initial attempt had been well saved by Bremen keeper Raphael Wolf, but the Germany international kept his composure when the loose ball landed back at his feet, beating Wolf with a curling shot which Arjen Robben would have been proud of. The goal opened the scoring at the Weser-Stadion and set Bayern on their way to a resounding 4-0 victory.

Müller received 35 per cent of bundesliga.com users' votes, thereby beating 1. FSV Mainz 05 striker Shinji Okazaki (23 per cent) into second place. The Japanese international's crisp finish against FC Augsburg helped his side win 2-0 at the SGL Arena - a result which eases the carnival club's relegation fears.

Müller's FC Bayern team-mate David Alaba finished third in the vote (18 per cent), just ahead of FC Schalke 04 prodigy Leroy Sane (17 per cent). Alaba's strike - a pearler of a free-kick from the edge of the penalty area - was also the league leaders' 100th competitive goal this term, while Sane followed up his effort against Real Madrid CF in the UEFA Champions League with a superb chip in the 2-2 draw at Hertha Berlin.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen forward Karim Bellarabi finished fifth in the poll with seven per cent. The Germany international fired home die Werkself's third goal in the 4-0 win over VfB Stuttgart, twisting and turning on the edge of the box before unleashing a powerful drive past Sven Ulreich in the Swabians' goal.
