Gelsenkirchen - FC Schalke 04 winger edged a step closer to making his competitive comeback after returning to full first-team training on Monday morning.

The Peru star has been out of action since 11 April 2014 with a long-standing knee problem that necessitated surgery later that year.
Bosnian left-back also looks to have put his injury nightmare behind him. The 21-year-old 2014 World Cup participant ruptured a cruciate ligament in the Matchday 1 defeat to Hannover 96 last August, but came through 75 minutes of the Schalke Under-23s' 1-0 defeat to Rot-Weiss Essen unscathed on Sunday.
