Müller wins Matchday 24 Player of the Week vote

Cologne - In one of the closest Player of the Week votes this season, FC Bayern München’s Thomas Müller emerged victorious with 36 per cent of bundesliga.com users’ votes for his display in the league leaders’ 3-1 win at Hannover 96 on Matchday 24.

The 25-year-old Germany international helped Pep Guardiola’s charges come from behind to win at the HDI Arena, scoring his side’s second and third goals to bring his personal tally for the season to 11 and extend the Bavarians’ lead over VfL Wolfsburg at the top of the table to 11 points.

Little to choose between trio

The 19-year-old helped ensure the Royal Blues bounced back from their 3-0 Revierderby defeat to Borussia Dortmund with two goals in the 3-1 win over TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, which keeps Roberto Di Matteo’s side firmly in the race for the automatic UEFA Champions League places.

Last but not least, with just five per cent fewer votes than Müller, was Bayer 04 Leverkusen forward Heung-Min Son, who also netted twice in die Werkself’s 3-0 victory over a profligate SC Paderborn 07 on Sunday evening - Leverkusen’s fourth straight win in all competitions.
