Benatia returns to Bayern training after injury layoff
Munich - FC Bayern München defender Medhi Benatia has taken a further step towards his return from injury after participating in first-team training on Thursday.

The 27-year-old has missed Bayern's last four competitive outings due to muscle problems in his back and thigh, but stepped up his recovery at the champions' Säbener Straße training complex, the club confirmed via their official Twitter account.

over Hamburger SV but, after being withdrawn in the 59th minute, has been subsequently unable to feature in league wins over SC Paderborn 07 and 1. FC Köln, as well as the DFB Cup victory against Eintracht Braunschweig and the UEFA Champions League draw with FC Shakhtar Donetsk. After joining the record champions in summer 2014 from AS Roma, the centre-half has played 853 minutes in the Bundesliga this campaign and scored one goal.
