Dortmund - Marco Reus ran the show for Borussia Dortmund in the Revierderby on Matchday 23 and while it may have looked for a long time like he was destined not to score, he delivered in style late on to help earn his side a memorable 3-0 victory.

Reus saw chance after chance thwarted by Schalke's rookie goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther and the Royal Blues' rearguard, but his persistence eventually paid off as he capitalised on an error by the young custodian four minutes from time to score his fourth league goal in as many games.

The best things come to those who wait

After Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finally pierced Schalke's bubble, Henrikh Mkhitaryan struck before Reus' opportunistic moment came in front of the legendary Südtribüne to cap a magnificent individual performance which had seen the German forward run BVB's Ruhr district rivals ragged.

It earned him a landslide victory in bundesliga.com's Player of the Week poll with two thirds of the votes cast - twice as many as Arjen Robben and Bas Dost combined. Robben moved to the top of the scoring charts after scoring his 17th goal of the season in Bayern's 4-1 win over Köln, while Dost continued his remarkable hot streak with a brace in Wolfsburg's 5-3 win at SV Werder Bremen.
