Ujah: 'Scoring was great for my self-belief'

Cologne - It was an entertaining 1-1 draw for the neutral, yet neither 1. FC Köln nor Hannover 96 left the RheinEnergieStadion satisfied after the former failed to notch their first home success since mid-October, while the 96ers are still hunting a win in 2015.

1. FC Köln

bundesliga.com

rounds up the reaction to Saturday evening's encounter...

Anthony Ujah:

"Scoring was great for me and my self-belief, but the team's success is more important."

Dominic Maroh:

"Of course we’re disappointed not to have won all three points, but we showed a great attitude today and had lots of chances. The fans were great. We could have ended our winless streak at home, but now we have to make sure we do it in a fortnight."

Timo Horn:

"The goal against us was a bit unlucky, but you have to say that Joselu headed the ball well and the cross was sublime. We reacted well to their goal and had lots of chances. We put in a brave showing today, braver than in the last home games. Unfortunately it was only enough for a point. The Bundesliga is very tight, but if we can keep up our performances I’m sure we’ll get our results."

Hannover 96

Ron-Robert Zieler:

"It's probably a fair result. We started well, dominated and went 1-0 up, but then Ujah made it 1-1. It was such an unlucky goal to concede but we shouldn't start complaining; that doesn't help anything. Köln pressed a lot after the goal and were good in the second half. The quality in our squad is there for all to see, we just need to deliver a 90-minute performance. We'll take the point back and aim for a first win [of 2015] against Stuttgart next week."

Maurice Hirsch:

"We started well, played a good first 15 minutes and got our goal but then the equaliser was pretty unlucky. We didn't quite manage to keep up our level of play and Köln put on a lot of pressure. We'll have to take the point."

Leon Andreasen:

"It's annoying to have conceded in the way we did. It would have been better to have held onto the one-goal lead for longer. On a personal level, I'm obviously happy to be playing again [after a long spell one the sidelines through injury]."
