Augsburg - There could only have been one talking point after FC Augsburg's last-gasp 2-2 draw at home to Bayer 04 Leverkusen, as Swiss goalkeeper Marwin Hitz notched his first ever goal in professional football to rescue a point for the hosts.

bundesliga.com rounds up the key post-match quotes...

Marwin Hitz: "It was unbelievable, particularly because I've never scored a goal before! Before the corner, I quickly made eye contact with the coach [Markus Weinzierl] and then went forward. The ball eventually landed at my feet, and I just had to put it in. We're obviously pleased to have picked up a deserved point. It certainly feels good to be a goalscoring goalkeeper. Honestly, it's something pretty new and I'm not really used to it!"

Caiuby: "We deserved three points after our second-half performance. We came back really well even after going 2-1 down out of nothing. It's a lot of fun playing in front of this crowd and it was a pretty exciting game. I'm delighted for [Hitz] that he scored and helped us secure a draw. I just tried to do what the coach told me to, which was getting my head up and going forward when I had the ball. It's great to score my first goal here for Augsburg and celebrate with our fans. It was really cool."

Halil Altintop: "Even in this game, you could see that we've taken a step forward this season. Obviously we're elated that Marwin [Hitz] rescued us a point in the last minute and in fact, in the final second we even had a chance to score the winner. All in all, though, we're pleased with the point."

Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker: "It's obviously complete madness what happened. First off, conceding a goal like we did from 25 metres from Stefan Reinartz's weaker foot, and the deflection making it impossible to save, normally something like that decides a game. We never give up, though, and we carried on going forward. What happened at the end is obviously just crazy, but really good for us. I've only ever seen something like that on television, but it's a great story."

Dominik Kohr: "Obviously we're happy that the late goal made it 2-2, but all in all, the point was hardly undeserved. We could even have won it when Halil Altintop hit the post. We showed again what good team spirit we have. Thankfully, we managed to score through Marwin Hitz. It was definitely the first time I've been on the field when a goalkeeper has scored and now Marwin has one more Bundesliga goal than I do! I'm pretty pleased we're still ahead of Leverkusen in the table, too."

Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Stefan Reinartz: "Their goalkeeper scored and we hit the post. It's amazing the many things that happened in this match, it was very entertaining. I think we’ll have to analyse the game closely."

Ömer Toprak: "We have to do everything better. We need to score more goals and concede fewer."
