Wolfsburg - VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Vieirinha has put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2018.
The 29-year-old Portuguese international's previous deal was due to expire at the end of the campaign.
Since moving to the Volkswagen Arena from Greek side PAOK FC in the winter of the 2011/12 season, Vieirinha has turned out 67 times in the Bundesliga, scoring six goals and chipping in with 13 assists. "I decided to stay in Wolfsburg because, for me, there's a really good project here and I'm delighted to continue being a part of that," said the right-sided utility man, who also received praise from head coach Dieter Hecking upon announcing his extension: "Vieirinha is not just a good player, but also incredibly important for the squad and the team spirit." Wolfsburg, who are currently second in the Bundesliga, entertain Hertha Berlin on Sunday afternoon.
