Munich - Emotions were understandably running high at both ends of the spectrum after FC Bayern München's 8-0 thrashing of Hamburger SV on Saturday, with Bastian Schweinsteiger reflecting on a "very enjoyable" game and HSV forward Ivica Olic calling it "a blow to our self-confidence".

Bastian Schweinsteiger:

"When you play like we did today then it's very enjoyable. We worked well and kept things simple. We moved around a lot and communicated with each other a great deal out on the pitch and that makes things a lot easier. Our build-up play was a lot better today, we got forward a lot better with simpler passes. Of course the grass is rather different here to how it was in Stuttgart but nevertheless it was down to the way we played today. It was a lot of fun playing the holding role by myself - that's where I play in the national team too. I really enjoy playing the ball out from the back and today was great. I 'cleaned' Robben's boot [after he made it 4-0] because normally he can't hit a thing with his right foot but today he scored. Normally we make fun of his right foot - or lack of one - but the fact he scored with it today was a huge surprise for all of us, but we're delighted obviously."

Arjen Robben:

"We played well so our players deserve credit for that. We need to keep going and we can't start thinking: 'we're back and now everything will happen automatically.' We have to keep working hard. A victory like this is good for our confidence and good for the future. We need to take the positives from it and start focusing on the Champions League. Things are going very well for me now. I've been fit for a very long time now and that helps - staying healthy is the most important thing. I'm enjoying my football at the moment. We celebrated my second goal like that because a lot of the time the guys make fun of my right foot - and rightly so because it isn't very strong, but sometimes it can do something."

Thomas Müller:

"We weren't great in our first three games of the year but now we won 8-0. It was nice that I managed to get a couple of assists today too."

Robert Lewandowski:

"It was a great performance today and it's always good when we can score a lot of goals. Of course the Champions League will be a very different game on Tuesday, but we're well prepared for it. It's always good for a striker to score but I'm happy that we played well. It's important to stay calm as a forward when you don't score for a few games, but I'm delighted I was on target."

Holger Badstuber:

"A win like that feels great and you can't have any complaints afterwards. It was a good victory for us and important ahead of our next game. For me it was good to play the full 90 minutes and I'm grateful for that. I'm ready to play but I know I need time [to get back to full fitness]. We know what we're capable of doing and today was a great day and will give us confidence going forward, especially as we have a tough game on Tuesday."

Hamburger SV

Ivica Olic: "It was a tough day and was worse for me because I got a thigh injury. I noticed it after about 10 or 15 minutes and I've been with the club doctor so I didn't see much of the game but the result says it all. It was a very big defeat. We knew it would be difficult to get something here but it's still a blow to your self-confidence to lose by such a high margin. Now we have to try to forget it quickly and to concentrate on our next game. After a defeat like that I think it's better if you sleep on it and analyse it the next day. The doctor said my injury isn't too serious and that I signalled that I needed to come off at the right time."

Marcell Jansen: "It's difficult to analyse a game like that. There was a massive difference between the sides today. We win as a team and we lose as a team."

Marcelo Diaz: "It's impossible for me to say anything after a game like that."
