Frankfurt - After coasting past FC Bayern München on Matchday 18, VfL Wolfsburg were dragged back to reality at Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday evening. Stefan Aigner's second-half strike looked to have sealed all three points for the Eagles, but Kevin De Bruyne came up trumps two minutes from time to secure a 1-1 draw.
bundesliga.com rounds up the players' post-match reaction following an entertaining contest at the Commerzbank Arena...
Stefan Aigner: "Of course we're disappointed with the late equaliser. We controlled the game for long periods, but it's not always possible to stop a team like Wolfsburg from creating chances. We've dropped two points at the end of the day, which is frustrating, but we can build on our performance today. 'Taka' [Inui] did very well for the first goal and I connected well with the ball."
Kevin Trapp: "Wolfsburg are a quality side and they're obviously a big threat going forward, but it's very, very frustrating to concede such a late equaliser. It's a right kick in the teeth and we obviously left the field disappointed."
Marcel Schäfer: "We came here to get three points, but considering the pattern of play and the timing of our equaliser, we have to be satisfied with a point. We've got four points from two games now, so it's a good - if not a brilliant - start to the second half of the season. Expectations are very high following our win over Bayern, but we've got to learn to cope with those expectations if we want to stay near the top of the league. I think we're on the right track, despite the draw tonight. We're delighted [with the signing of Andre Schürrle]. We know he's got enormous quality and he'll be a great addition to the squad.
