Dortmund - There was a real buzz in the Borussia Dortmund air earlier on Thursday after German megastar made his long-awaited return to team training.

Light at the end of the tunnel

The 25-year-old had been out of action since

tearing ligaments

in his right ankle in the five-time Bundesliga champions' 2-2 draw at SC Paderborn 07 on Matchday 12.

Die Schwarz-Gelben

were also boosted by the return of World Cup winner

Erik Durm

following illness, while

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

and

Sokratis Papastathopoulos

continued their respective quests for full fitness with some light running. Reus' comeback comes just two days before second-bottom BVB depart for their week-long

winter training camp

in La Manga, Spain. "We've got a busy schedule ahead of us and we're really looking forward to it," enthused head coach Jürgen Klopp, who now has just over three weeks to get his side shipshape for Matchday 18's trip to Bayer 04 Leverkusen on 31 January.
