Cologne - With preparations for the second half of the 2014/15 campaign in full swing, 1. FC Köln have embarked on an American adventure to fly the flag for Germany's top flight in the United States as part of the Bundesliga World Tour 2015.

Drumming up the excitement

Sitting in 11th place, but with just a four-point cushion over bottom-of-the-table SC Freiburg, Peter Stöger's charges know the importance of getting into their stride as soon as possible and are eagerly anticipating what Florida has in store for them both on and off the pitch.

"I'm looking forward to it because it’s going to be a big part of our preparation for the second round," explained top goalscorer Anthony Ujah, who is looking forward to taking part in the Florida Cup. "It’s a competition for everyone, but from a team perspective it’s healthy and it’s good. It’s a good test against some very well known teams so I hope to test myself as a player and also it’s a good test for us as a team."

Meanwhile, for Kazuki Nagasawa, the winter training camp provides a chance to truly stretch his legs having missed the entire first half of the season through injury. "In the first summer training camp I suffered an injury in the very first practice match, so I want to make sure not to get hurt this time around," admitted the Japanese midfielder. "But I also want to use this time to bring out the best of my abilities and show everyone what I am capable of."
