Mönchengladbach - Borussia Mönchengladbach make their fifth trip to the Turkish township of Belek on Thursday in preparation for the start of the 2014/15 Rückrunde later this month.

The Foals went into the winter break occupying fourth place in the Bundesliga standings, and could hardly have asked for a more idyllic setting for their mid-winter preparations along the Mediterranean Sea.

Rhineland guests

Lucien Favre's troops will put their noses to the grindstone on two FIFA-standard pitches at the Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort, where they'll be spending seven nights before returning to Mönchengladbach on 15 January. Fourth Division outfit Viktoria Köln are also booked in for a short stay of their own.

As well as having training facilities on their doorstep, the players are also only a stone's throw from the shingle and sandy beaches of the Turkish Riviera, where temperatures are likely to peak at a comfortable 18ºC.

The conditions should be particularly conducive to a thorough workout after a two-week break, with Gladbach planning to dust off any lingering cobwebs in friendlies against Arminia Bielefeld (11 January), SV Werder Bremen and Genclerbirligi Ankara (both 13 January). Incidentally, the Foals' first competitive fixture of 2015 isn't until 31 January (VfB Stuttgart, away).

Borussia are one of six Bundesliga outfits flying out to Belek this winter along with Bremen, Hannover 96, FC Augsburg, SC Paderborn 07 and Hertha Berlin. With Belek being such a popular tourist destination, a good number of fans are also expected to make the trip, so it wouldn't be a surprise to hear the odd chorus of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' echoing out from behind the majestic Kurşunlu Waterfall.
