Die Schwarz-Gelben will touch down along the 'Sandbag of the Minor Sea' for the fourth year running on Saturday 10 January, before returning home to the Ruhr district heartland eight days later.
The bee's knees
The plan is for Jürgen Klopp's side to make use of the eight football pitches on offer at the luxurious La Manga Club Resort. There's also a small, 800-seater terrace on site, giving locals the chance to catch a glimpse of some of the Bundesliga's top stars in action.
The Dortmund players will be staying on site at the five-star Hotel Principe Felipe. The king-sized resort is three times the size of Monaco, with amenities of the very highest order, including golf courses, spas, restaurants, swimming pools and cafes. The training facilities are within a five-minute drive of the accommodation; or around one kilometre on foot.
BVB will test their mettle in two mid-season friendlies while they're away. Swiss side FC Sion are up first at the La Manga club on 13 January, before Klopp and Co. make the 40-kilometre trip to San Pedro del Pinatar to take on Romanian side FC Steaua Bucuresti four days later.
La Manga itself is a highly sought-after destination, situated in the south-east region of Murcia. With its year-round sun, Europe's largest salt-water lagoon (the Mar Menor) to one side and the Mediterranean Sea to the other, it's a water sports lover's paradise, so keep an eye out for any wet and wild antics direct from the Dortmund camp on the Bundesliga's official Twitter channel.
