German backgroundThe 24-year-old has scored 29 goals and recorded 54 assists in 109 appearances for the Austrian side. Kampl began his career with Bayer 04 Leverkusen and represented VfR Aalen, SpVgg Greuther Fürth and VfL Osnabrück in Germany before moving to Salzburg in 2012. The Solingen-born midfielder, who has 14 caps and scored one goal for Slovenia, will sign a long-term contract with die Schwarz-Gelben that will keep him at the club until 2019.
