Dortmund - The Borussia Dortmund players chose to focus on the positives after coming within a late VfL Wolfsburg equaliser of three priceless points on Matchday 16.

Borussia Dortmund

bundesliga.com rounds up the reaction to Wednesday's thrilling 2-2 draw at the Signal Iduna Park…

Sebastian Kehl: "If you play like that and still concede the equaliser, you can never be happy. We really needed the three points. At the same time, you have to be realistic: Wolfsburg are a really strong side and are rightly second in the table. That puts the result into perspective. We gave it everything, but still it's not all running as smoothly as it should. In some way, we have to be happy with the point."

Ciro Immobile: "When we play with the bit between our teeth, we can do some real damage. I always try to do my best for the team. We've been suffering from a lack of confidence and that's why things haven't gone that well for us recently. The most important thing is that we manage to climb away from the bottom of the table. The coach brought me on at the right time. When he does that, I have to be prepared to put in a solid performance. Obviously I'm relieved and happy right now [after scoring], but my own situation isn't that important. The most important thing is that the team gets out of trouble. We all have to work hard to make that happen."

Neven Subotic: "We have to accept the point. It's one more than we got at the weekend [against Hertha Berlin on Matchday 15]. Despite our current situation the fans stuck by us and we fought until the bitter end. We did everything we could and our legs are aching right now. I felt we did well today. Everything was in place for us to get the three points, but then we were pegged back to 2-2 near the end. We still didn't allow our opponents too many chances and created a lot of opportunities at the other end. We've got a long way to go until we're back where we want to be and we won't be able to win all our games. We've taken a step in the right direction against Wolfsburg, though, and our attitude was spot on."

Marcel Schmelzer: "We didn't shy away from the challenge and played really well, especially when our opponents had the ball. We pressed Wolfsburg high up the pitch and forced them into making mistakes. It's a shame that both goals we conceded could have been avoided, but we can take plenty of positives from the game. We have to go into our match with Bremen [on Matchday 17] with the same attitude we showed tonight, otherwise the point we got against Wolfsburg will count for nothing."

Mats Hummels: "Our fans are incredible. They're backing us to the hilt and can see that we're trying, but you can tell that our confidence levels aren't quite where they should be."

VfL Wolfsburg

Diego Benaglio: "Both sides played well. When you're 2-1 down it's a point gained. Considering how the game unfolded, we have to be content with the draw."
