Munich - FC Bayern München duo Gianluca Gaudino and Tom Starke have both extended their contracts with the Bundesliga leaders.

Benatia ruled out

Gaudino, 18, has put pen to paper on a new four-year contract - his first professional deal - while 33-year-old custodian Starke has signed a one-year extension to his previous contract, which was due to expire in the summer.

Pep Guardiola's side consolidated their position at the top of the table with a

2-0 win

over SC Freiburg on Tuesday evening, but the victory came at a price: Morocco centre-back Medhi Benatia had to be replaced after 39 minutes of the Matchday 16 encounter with a groin problem and will now be unavailable for the Bavarians' final clash of 2014 against 1. FSV Mainz 05 on Friday evening. As well as Benatia, midfielder

Xabi Alonso

and striker

Robert Lewandowski

were also forced off with knocks at the Allianz Arena and are now rated as doubtful for the Matchday 17 opener against the 05ers, who were held to a goalless draw at 1. FC Köln on Tuesday evening.
