The 23-year-old is due to arrive in Wolfsburg on Saturday, ahead of the Wolves' Bundesliga clash with SC Paderborn on Sunday, to complete the formalities ahead of a transfer early next week

"We just need to clear up the final details," said Wolfsburg's sporting director Klaus Allofs. "We're confident we will complete the signing of Xizhe Zhang and be able to present him officially next week." "He is a young player with a lot of potential. Even if the leap from China to the Bundesliga is a big one, we have every faith in him being able to manage it. Of course we are going to give him the time he needs for that," added Allofs.

Wolfsburg hope to parade their new signing next week, when they will also provide a version of their website in Chinese. "Interest in Wolfsburg is growing month by month and we have many fans in China and, with this new offering, we want to ensure they are given the best possible information about VfL," explained Allofs. Wolfsburg have had a presence on the Chinese social media channels Sina Weibo, Youku and WeChat for almost a year now while they spent time in China during pre-season. The arrival of Zhang, will further strengthen their growing relationship with the Far East nation and take the
