Wolfsburg - VfL Wolfsburg are breathing down FC Bayern München's neck after Robin Knoche's intuition to be in the right place at the right time saw off Borussia Mönchengladbach.

rounds up the post-match reaction from the Volkswagen-Arena...

Robin Knoche:

I knew Marcel [Schäfer] was going to cross the ball and I wanted to be at the near post to meet it, and it went just the way I wanted it to. We've been unlucky to lose the last few games so it was good to win again today. I was delighted to be part of the national team and delighted to have got to know [Germany] coach Joachim Löw and I hope to get more chances in future.

Diego Benaglio:

I think we had one or two good chances on the break, more so in the second half, which we could have probably finished better than we did, but we'll take a 1-0 win. We're not really reading too much into the league situation yet. What mattered was winning again after the defeats to Schalke 04 and Everton.

Borussia Mönchengladbach

Christoph Kramer:

We conceded a goal which we shouldn't have conceded in the first half. Then we played well but it was hard to find any gaps. We should have stuck one of our few earlier chances away because we didn't really get close enough late on. You have to take the few chances you get here or it's always going to be difficult. We're still fourth or fifth, we're still in the Europa League and in three competitions. It can happen that you lose in Dortmund and in Wolfsburg, so we shouldn't let it get us down.

Yann Sommer:

I came out and tried to get it, but the ball fell kindly for Knoche to put it in. I knew the ball was played in well and that players were coming in. That wasn't the game's decisive moment, though. We had enough chances, with the header from [Patrick] Herrmann in particular, and we could have got something. Now we have to make sure we win again next weekend.
