Mönchengladbach - Borussia Mönchengladbach forward has come up with an unusual way of commemorating reaching 100,000 likes on his official Facebook account: by inviting fans to submit ideas for goal celebrations.

Prize on offer

“I’m not very creative when it comes to celebrating my goals, that’s something that can definitely improve,” said the 26-year-old, who is currently on international duty with Germany. “That’s why I’d be delighted if my Facebook followers could post videos with some suggestions.”

Kruse has struck five times in the Bundesliga this season and to celebrate he usually runs towards the corner flag with his arms outstretched “That’s nothing special,” he said in the video below (in German only). “Most of the time I’m just greeting my family.” Now he is asking fans to “be creative and come up with something special, regardless of whether it’s by yourself or with a group of friends".

The left-footer has set 1 December as the deadline for submissions and has promised the winner two complimentary tickets to Gladbach’s Matchday 14 encounter at home to Hertha Berlin on Saturday 6 December.

Kruse could do worse than take advice from Hannover 96 forward , who performed a creative celebration on Matchday 11, as can be seen on the official Bundesliga YouTube channel:
