Dortmund - Borussia Dortmund have received a boost after star forward Marco Reus resumed light training following his ankle injury.

The news comes a day after team-mate Nuri Sahin made an encouraging return from injury after coming through the full 90 minutes of a friendly against Dortmund’s U-23 side on Friday.

Options for Paderborn

Reus damaged ligaments in his left ankle during BVB's 1-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 11 and as such was ruled out of Germany's against Gibraltar in UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying. He will also miss his country's friendly against Spain next Tuesday, but will be optimistic of featuring when Dortmund face SC Paderborn 07 on Matchday 12.

BVB coach Jürgen Klopp could also have Sahin available against the newly-promoted outfit. The former Real Madrid CF man, who last played for Borussia in the 2-0 defeat to FC Bayern München in the 2014 DFB Cup final, has been out for three months following surgery to repair inflamed tissue in his left knee.

Klopp’s side have struggled in the league this season, losing seven of their 11 games, although they climbed to 15th in the standings after victory against the Foals.
