Schweinsteiger returns to first-team training
Munich - After weeks of speculation, FC Bayern München midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger made his long-awaited return to first-team training on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old has been out of action with a knee injury since early August, but is on course to return to competitive action before the end of the year.

, who turned 31 on Tuesday in a training session involving players that have collectively won over 400 full international caps between themselves. Bayern's other 2014 FIFA World Cup winners, as well as Juan Bernat (Spain), Robert Lewandowski (Poland), Arjen Robben (the Netherlands), Xherdan Shaqiri (Switzerland), Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Denmark) and Mehdi Benatia (Morocco) have all joined up with their countries on international duty.
