Zinnbauer pens permanent Hamburg deal

Hamburg - Hamburger SV have officially named Josef Zinnbauer as their new head coach after the 44-year-old signed a two-year permanent deal on Monday afternoon.

Steady improvement

HSV's former Under-23s coach was initially handed the reins in an interim capacity following

Mirko Slomka's dismissal

on 15 September, but will now stay at the club until June 2016.

The Bundesliga's only ever-present club, currently 16th in the standings, have picked up five points from six outings under Zinnbauer, who oversaw a

goalless draw

with league leaders FC Bayern München on his debut as well as a

maiden win

of the season away to Borussia Dortmund on Matchday 7. Hamburg broke the news via their official Twitter page earlier today:
