Frankfurt - Following protracted negotiations, Eintracht Frankfurt managed to wrap up their fourth signing of the summer transfer window having struck up a season-long loan deal with Chelsea FC for attacking midfielder Lucas Piazon.

Talent on the rise

The 20-year-old, who came through the youth ranks with Brazilian side Sao Paulo, has been on the books in London since 2011 and will be hoping his third stint on loan can be another step forward in his development, having featured for FC Malaga and Vitesse Arnheim in the past two seasons.

The 2013/14 campaign saw Piazon produce 11 goals and eight assists in 29 appearances, thus thrusting him into the spotlight in Holland courtesy of his sparkling performances and Frankfurt sporting director Bruno Hübner is excited to see what the youngster can bring to the Eagles’ frontline. “We’re happy that we’ve been able to reach an agreement following our long, but very fair negotiations with Chelsea FC and that Piazon will strengthen our side in the upcoming season. He’s a left-winger, but can be played in a variety of positions and is just as comfortable on the right or through the middle.”
