Hanover - Hannover 96 have strengthened their attack with the signing of Joselu from Bundesliga rivals 1899 Hoffenheim.

A perfect fit

The former Real Madrid CF and Spain Under-21 striker has penned a four-year contract with the Reds, having spent the 2013/14 campaign on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, for whom he netted nine goals in 24 Bundesliga appearances.

"It was my intention to join a club with a clear vision," said the 24-year-old. "By committing myself to Hannover, I'm joining a terrific team with an ambitious coach. The discussions I had with (CEO) Martin Kind, (sporting director) Dirk Dufner and (head coach) Tayfun Korkut convinced me that I can develop here and fit in perfectly with the team and their philosophy."

"Joselu really made a name for himself last season with some very impressive performances," added Dufner. "We wanted to bring in a striker with Bundesliga experience, but who also still has room to develop."

Stuttgart-born Joselu's arrival offsets the imminent departure of Mame Diouf, whose agent confirmed last month that the Senegalese international will leave the Lower Saxony club when his contract expires on 30 June.
