The Bosnia and Herzegovina international, who is expected to represent his country at the FIFA World Cup this summer, has signed a three-year contract in Sinsheim.
Worthy World Cup participant
"Ermin is going to give us more stability in our defence," said Hoffenheim's sporting director Alexander Rosen, who highlighted the 24-year-old's "passion, which he has underlined impressively in 31 appearances for Braunschweig in the season just ended". His call-up to Bosnia and Herzegovina's World Cup squad "is just a logical consequence of his performances," added Rosen.
Bicakcic grew up not far from Sinsheim, in Heilbronn, starting his career with VfB Stuttgart and, following the signings of Pirmin Schwegler and Oliver Baumann, represents Hoffenheim’s third foray into the summer transfer market.. He has been capped six times by his country. "We would like to thank Ermin for his performances," said Braunschweig's sporting director Marc Arnold. "He made a major contribution to a successful few years for the club and we wish him all the best for his future."
