Berlin - Hertha Berlin midfielder Per Skjelbred has been voted Kniksen of the Year - Norway's edition of the Player of the Year - for 2013.

'Very proud'

The 26-year-old, on loan at the capital club from fellow Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV, has made 25 appearances for Jos Luhukay's team this season, scoring twice and grabbing seven assists.

'I'm very proud to receive this award," said Skjelbred, who joined Hamburg in 2011 after a seven-year spell at Norwegian giants Rosenborg BK. "I would like to thank my team-mates, my coaches and everyone else who has supported me."

Skjelbred made his Norway debut in a UEFA Euro 2008 qualifier against Turkey in 2007. Since then, he has gone on to make 23 appearances for his country and scored his only international goal against Macedonia in 2013.
