Leverkusen - Julian Brandt said his second goal in as many games was "instinctive" as the 17-year-old's star continues to rise for Bayer 04 Leverkusen first team.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen

The youngest player to have appeared in the Bundesliga so far this season helped Leverkusen reclaim fourth place in the Bundesliga, with a goal in a 2-1 win over Hertha Berlin, who in the words of Sandro Wagner need to remember that they're "not on their summer holidays yet". bundesliga.com has reaction from the BayArena...

Julian Brandt: I noticed that Heung-Min Son had his head up, the pass was great and the rest was just instinctive. I never thought things would progress this quickly, but I'm happy to be playing and scoring and I'll take it as it comes. We're delighted with the three points.

Simon Rolfes: We were a bit lucky when they hit the bar as we scored straight away, but this was a good step forward. We worked on a lot of tactical things this week and we now have a week to enjoy the result.

Sandro Wagner: Adrian Ramos wasn't here but we still wanted to win and we had chances. We can't think we're on holiday yet. I don't know what happened in the first 20 minutes. We gave the game away with those goals. We got one back but it's tough trying to come back from two down here in Leverkusen.

Alexander Baumjohann: I think we tried everything, particularly in the second half when the coach even changed things and made us even more attacking, but it's just like in recent weeks - we didn't get the goal to snatch something and it's frustrating. We wanted to keep a clean sheet for as long as we could, but when you concede after less than a minute, then Leverkusen have everything going for them. We got back into the game, though, and tried to level, but it wasn't to be.

Tolga Cigerci: I think we paid for the first 20 minutes. We showed good character after that and, with a bit of luck, we would have made it 2-2, although I've got to say that Leverkusen defended well too.
