Sinsheim - 1899 Hoffenheim received a boost ahead of their Matchday 30 encounter against FC Augsburg on Sunday with the news that forward Kevin Volland will be staying with the club for at least another season.

Attacking verve

“I will play for Hoffenheim next term,” the 21-year-old said at the pre-match press conference on Friday. “There were never any doubts.”

Volland has scored nine times so far in 2013/14, chipping in with a further ten assists as Hoffenheim have stunned fans and pundits alike with their free-scoring exploits.

The Germany U-21 international has also dovetailed superbly with fellow attacking talents Roberto Firmino, Anthony Modeste and Sejad Salihovic to help the club to a goals scored tally of 64, second only to Bundesliga champions FC Bayern München. Markus Gisdol's team are currently ninth in the standings ahead of their home game against FC Augsburg on Sunday evening.
