Munich - FC Bayern München winger will miss his side's UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg tie against Manchester United on Wednesday after picking up an injury in the Bavarians' 1-0 defeat away to FC Augsburg on Matchday 29.

The 22-year-old was substituted at half-time in the SGL Arena, with Bayern’s chief medical officer Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt diagnosing a muscle tear in the player’s right thigh on Saturday evening. The Swiss international is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.

He joins an ever-growing list of absentees at the Bundesliga champions, with Thiago Alcantara, Tom Starke and Diego Contento all suffering injuries in recent weeks. Furthermore, both Bastian Schweinsteiger and Javi Martinez will also miss out against Manchester United through suspension.
