Munich - FC Bayern München centre-back Dante has signed a contract extension valid until 2017 with the runaway Bundesliga leaders.

'One of our best signings'

The 30-year-old joins Arjen Robben in committing his future to the record titleholders, who can wrap up their 23rd Bundesliga crown with victory at Hertha Berlin on Tuesday evening.

"I'm very happy here," said the former Borussia Mönchengladbach star on Monday. "Everything is good - the club, the team, the titles and the atmosphere. Bayern are the right club for me, that's why I'm very happy to be staying here until 2017 at least. I'm sure we'll have a lot more fun and enjoy more success with this club."

"Dante has been one of our best signings in the last couple of years," added Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. "In just one and a half years, he has developed into an important player for the team - both on and off the pitch. This team has won five titles with Dante in the side [...] and we're pleased that he's decided to stay until 2017."
