Gelsenkirchen - Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Kevin-Prince Boateng both admitted FC Schalke 04 were far from their best in die Knappen's narrow win at FC Augsburg on Friday evening.

Andre Hahn, meanwhile, was left to rue what might have been after the hosts failed to turn their dominance into goals against the Royal Blues. bundesliga.com rounds up the players' post-match reaction...

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar: It was important we equalised just before half-time. We didn't start well - we made far too many individual mistakes and just couldn't get into the game in the first half, but we still fought to try to win the game and, thankfully, we managed to get the three points.

Kevin Prince-Boateng: We were asleep for the entire first half [...] but 'the Hunter' was in the right place in the right time to score the two goals. We knew it would be very difficult for us today. Augsburg are a very good side - it's no coincidence they're near the top of the league, but we're happy to win.

Andre Hahn: We weren't clinical enough in front of goal. We took the lead early and were very optimistic going into the second half, despite the equaliser, but it wasn't to be. We've proved we can hold our own against the best teams in the division. The only thing missing tonight was the goal.
