Munich - EA Sports and FIFA 14 present a virtual showdown of Saturday afternoon's northern derby (kick-off 14.30 GMT/15.30 CET) between Werder Bremen and a resurging Hamburger SV.

Although Bremen have yet to win a game in the second half of the season, they have drawn three of their five games since the winter break. Hamburg have also collected three points since the restart.


Going into their match against Borussia Dortmund on Matchday 22, Hamburg had lost seven games in a row and hadn't scored three goals in a game since Matchday 13, when they beat Hannover 96 3-1. Whether their recent 3-0 victory over BVB was just a flash in the pan or the start of an upturn in form remains to be seen.


Matchday 23's clash is the 100th meeting between the two sides in the Bundesliga - no other top-flight teams have played each other more often. Bremen appear to have a slight edge over their rivals: Robin Dutt's team have won 35, drawn 33 and lost 31 against die Rothosen.


Despite having the worst defensive record in the Bundesliga and sitting below Bremen in the table, HSV boast a better goal difference, due in no small part to their impressive tally of 38 goals scored (1.7 per game) so far this campaign. Werder, by contrast, have only found the net on 25 occasions (1.1 per game) this season.
