Hamburg - Fresh from announcing the loan signing of Ola John from SL Benfica, Bundesliga ever-presents Hamburger SV have completed a deal to bring 20-year-old Ouasim Bouy to the club until the end of the season.

“My aim is to play”

The Dutch midfielder, currently under contract with reigning Italian champions Juventus, has further bolstered the Red Shorts’ squad ahead of the Bundesliga restart after completing his medical on Saturday.

Bouy, who admitted to feeling “most comfortable in a central position”, went on to make his debut for HSV the same day, coming off the bench in the 4-2 mid-season friendly win over FC Basel 1893. “I’m delighted to be here,” the youngster told hsv.de. “Now I’m excited about getting to know my new team-mates and the time I’m going to spend in Hamburg. I’ll play where the head coach [Bert van Marwijk] needs me to and will give my all to help the team.”

The Dutch U-19 international has featured just once for Juventus in a competitive fixture, but enjoyed a successful loan spell with Brescia Calcio in the Italian second tier, making 19 appearances, scoring once and is hoping to do the same with the Bundesliga Dinos. “Hamburg are a huge club with an incredible stadium,” said Bouy. “I’ve only heard good things about the club. I’m looking forward to introducing myself to Rafael van der Vaart and playing in the same team as him. My aim is to play and get the most out of myself.”
