Munich - Eintracht Frankfurt have taken midfielder Tobias Weis on loan from their Bundesliga rivals 1899 Hoffenheim until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent in the summer.
"We're delighted to have been able to sign another player in Tobias Weis," said Frankfurt's sporting director Bruno Hübner, following Alexander Madlung's transfer earlier this week. "He can play in a variety of positions across midfield and that makes him another alternative for us."
The 28-year-old, who will wear the number 26 shirt with the Eagles, has made a total of 94 Bundesliga appearances, scoring two goals. Weis previously played for VfB Stuttgart's reserve team before moving to Hoffenheim in 2007. His first appearance for his new club could come in a friendly game against Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
