Munich - FC Bayern München full-back has agreed a new three-year contract with the record titleholders.

Change brings a chance

The Brazilian's current deal was due to expire in the summer, but the 28-year-old will now stay with the Bavarians until the end of the 2016/17 season. "It's very important for me and my family that I continue to play at one of the best clubs in the world. I'm very proud," he told FCB.tv on Thursday.

Rafinha, who played for FC Schalke 04 between 2005 and 2010 and joined the Reds from Genoa CFC in 2011, has excelled in 15 Bundesliga appearances for Pep Guardiola's team this season after captain Philipp Lahm was moved into a holding midfield role..
